RAY TUCKER FOUND
Early Wednesday evening I got a call from Jeaneen Chaffin telling me that she had found Ray Tucker.
Ray
and his wife, Helen, moved back to Opelika from, Washington DC, in 1991. Ray
had a stroke in 1992, then another 9 years later in 2001. He is currently in the
VA Nursing Home in Tuskegee. His wife goes to see him everyday.
On Thursday morning I called Helen Tucker
and spoke with her for awhile. She tells me that Raymond (that is what Helen
calls him---to us he will always be Ray) is not doing well. I asked her permission
to tell all of his classmates about his condition. She said that was ok, and
he can have visitors. Due to his condition, he sometimes has difficulty in holding cards and letters. So Helen
requests that all mailings be sent to her and she will take them to Ray and read them.
I am sending her a copy of the last newsletter….about the reunion, which she said she would also read to Ray.
I will also send a current copy of the Class Roster. Helen is from England and
has returned home on occasion with Ray to introduce him to her parents and her homeland.
She told me that he had a wonderful time. If you would like to send a
letter or a note to Ray, please contact me for the address and phone number.
January 2004
Jack Bankston has moved from Colorado to Arkansas. He has stated that he will not be going
on the Internet. At the present time you can only contact him by snailmail. P.O. Box 855, Yellville, AR 72687
UPDATE NOVEMBER 22, 2003
Charles James has been located. In fact he was not lost, we just had a mistake
in his address. Jean and Elmer Mitchell talked to him on November 20, 2003, he is doing ok. He is now retired
from the Oil Rigging business, where he traveled all over the world. He also has a computer....but alas, it is not hooked
up. I called and left a message but have not heard from him yet. His correct address is now on the class roster
and you can get a copy by just asking.
UPDATE: Bob Boland spoke with Charles and he said that he was doing
ok. Probably will attend the next reunion.
UPDATE August 6, 2003
June Thomas-Rogers mail is being returned with notations of "No Such
