=================================
On May 6th,
2006 George & Janet Crawford hosted a “Pepperell Kids” reunion at their Lake Martin
home for persons growing up in the Pepperell Village. It was well attended with 55 Pepperell
folks and some of their spouses enjoying a day on the lake with BBQ and pot luck dishes brought by everyone. Special guests were Harold and Jean Turner who drove down from their Tucker, Georgia home. Mr. Turner, or coach as we prefer to call him, was a coach and teacher at both Pepperell
School, and Cliff High School which became Opelika High. Others
attending came from Tennessee, Georgia,
and of course Alabama. Some of those attending had not seen
each other in 45 years or more. It was much fun trying to recognize each other
before we put on the name tags.
Plans are already underway
by the Crawford’s to host another reunion next year. Anyone who grew up
in the Pepperell Village
who would like to attend next years event should contact George.
